BEML Limited, a defence-backed bulldozer manufacturer under the Ministry of Defence, has secured a significant order worth ₹185.65 crore from the Ministry of Defence (Engineer-in-Chief) for the supply of bulldozers. The new order adds further weight to BEML’s expanding footprint in India’s defence and infrastructure sectors.
The order comes as the Bengaluru-headquartered firm, formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited, reports a robust order book of ₹14,610 crore as of March 31, 2025. For over six decades, BEML has been serving as one of the key providers of crucial equipment in defence, mining, rail, power, and construction.
Headquartered in Bengaluru, Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), Mysuru, and Palakkad are a few of the manufacturing facilities that BEML has stretched its wings into three main verticals — Defence and Aerospace, Mining and Construction, Rail and Metro. It also boasts a strong R&D base and a pan-India service network.
Financially, BEML delivered a remarkable performance in the fourth quarter of FY25. Net sales surged by 87% to ₹1,653 crore, while net profit skyrocketed 1,100% to ₹288 crore compared to the previous quarter. However, on an annual basis, net sales for FY25 dipped marginally by 1% to ₹4,022 crore, while annual net profit rose 4% to ₹293 crore from FY24.
The company has demonstrated consistent financial strength with a five-year compound annual profit growth rate of 35.8%. Its shares have also reflected bullish investor sentiment, rising 95% from a 52-week low of ₹2,346.35 per share. BEML’s market capitalisation has crossed ₹18,000 crore, supported by a healthy dividend payout ratio of 21.3%.
Backed by the President of India and strategically aligned with national priorities, BEML continues to reinforce its role as a key player in India’s self-reliant manufacturing and defence ambitions.
