Tamil Nadu’s knitwear capital is set to get a boost in IT and allied services with the inauguration of its first Tidel Neo Park later this month.
The facility, coming up at Rakkiya Palayam village in Avinashi Taluk, spans 1.77 acres with a built-up area of 65,379 sq. ft. Developed at an investment of ₹39.44 crore, the park has the potential to create employment for 650 people.
“The first TIDEL Park in Tamil Nadu transformed the IT landscape of the state. Through Tidel Neo, we are now bringing similar transformation to smaller towns, enabling people to work in their hometowns,” said Sandeep Nanduri, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (TIDCO). He noted that Tidel Neo projects have consistently achieved high occupancy rates and are helping smaller firms access quality office infrastructure.
The Tidel Neo initiative began in February 2024 with the launch of the first park at Tiruchitrambalam village, Vanur Taluk, Villupuram. That facility currently hosts three firms and has created around 200 jobs, with full occupancy expected within three months.
Following Villupuram, the state opened similar parks in Thanjavur, Salem, and Thoothukudi — all of which have reached 100% occupancy. Thanjavur’s park houses four companies, generating 800 jobs. Salem has five firms employing 700 people, while Thoothukudi accommodates two firms employing 620 people.
The state government’s Tidel Neo model aims to decentralise IT growth, spreading it beyond Chennai and Coimbatore into Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns. By offering modern workspaces at competitive costs, the parks attract IT, ITES, and tech-enabled service companies, boosting local economies and reducing the need for talent migration to metros.
As well known for textile exports, Tiruppur expects Tidel Neo to bring varied activity. As well known for textile exports, Tiruppur expects Tidel Neo to bring varied activity. The facility is expected to attract technology, design, and back-office operations, creating new opportunities for the region’s workforce and supporting the growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
After launching in August, Tiruppur will become a part of the expanding network of Tidel Neo Parks, which are transforming the digital and employment landscape in Tamil Nadu.
